The 2,000MW F2 power and seawater desalination plant in Fujairah will use natural gas from Abu Dhabi’s state-controlled venture Dolphin Energy.
The Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority holds a 60% interest in the project, while International Power and Marubeni each hold a 20% stake.
FAPCO project manager Roxy Sam was quoted by Reuters as saying that the commissioning of the plant will be in about three months time.
