Boralex paid C$45m to the French developer InnoVent for three farms with 56MW of capacity that will be completed in the second half of 2013.
It also acquired the 34.5MW St-Patrick wind farm, which is already producing electricity, from AES Corp.
The company in addition has entered into five-year agreement with InnoVent, which allows it to secure purchase options for 130MW in additional wind power projects currently in development in France.
Boralex president and CEO Patrick Lemaire said that with this acquisition the company exceeds 500MW in operation, with an installed capacity of nearly 200MW in France.
"Our European development team is currently finalizing the development projects we just acquired," added Lemaire.
