The newly developed solar chargers combine solar and battery technology, by using energy efficient solar cells, which can charge the lithium ion battery within the iPhone.
The internal battery of the solar charger for iPhone can be recharged by sun and also by USB, allowing the iPhone to use the stored energy from the charger when there is no sunlight available.
The small and lightweight A-solar chargers, which are expected to enhance the battery capacity for iPhone, are easy to carry, making them suitable for those who go on a business or holiday trip.
A-Solar director Ralph Both said that the company gets a lot of feedback from its customers who say they are very satisfied with the usability and capabilities of the iPhone.
“However, a complaint often heard is that the battery of the iPhone runs out of energy quickly. Not surprising when iPhone users are calling, sending SMS, reading e-mail and twittering all day long,” Both said.
