Under the contract, Alstom will deliver the main power train equipment components which include two GT26 gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), one steam turbine and three turbogenerators to Samsung Construction and Trading (SCT).

Scheduled to be commissioned in May 2017, the Kirikkale Independent Power Project (KIPP) is being developed by Acwa Güç Elektrik Isletme ve Yönetim Sanayi ve Ticaret (ACWA Guc), a unit of ACWA Power.

Located within the municipality of Kiliclar in the Yahsihan district of Kirikkale province, 15km from Kirikkale City Centre and 50km east of Ankara, the KIPP greenfield project will be operated on a merchant basis selling the dependable power capacity and electricity dispatched through bilateral contracts and in the balancing/day-ahead market.

SCT is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) on a turnkey basis.

Alstom is also responsible for installation and commissioning field advisory services to SCT during the construction phase and to ensure long term maintenance services for up to 20 years.
