For this outdoor lighting project supporting the mayor’s initiative, LED luminaires are focused on lighting quality, sustainability and energy-efficiency.

The City of Vancouver will install these LED luminaires along several thousand linear feet of roadway, with the project slated for completion this spring.

The Holophane Washington Postlite Series combines a full-cutoff optic, and a vintage appearance, with the sustainability and reduced life-cycle costs associated with LED technology.

The city will mount the Holophane luminaires on custom 16ft concrete poles, replacing the steel poles, that supported the existing cobra-head lighting system.

The company said that the luminaires’ LED light output and system life are optimized through a thermal management system, with a dedicated heat sink mounted into the fixture to pull heat away from the critical LED components.
