Acuity Brands, a provider of energy-efficient lighting and control solutions, is supplying Holophane Washington Postlite LED luminaires to revitalize an upscale neighborhood in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

For this outdoor lighting project supporting the mayor’s initiative, LED luminaires are focused on lighting quality, sustainability and energy-efficiency.

The City of Vancouver will install these LED luminaires along several thousand linear feet of roadway, with the project slated for completion this spring.

The Holophane Washington Postlite Series combines a full-cutoff optic, and a vintage appearance, with the sustainability and reduced life-cycle costs associated with LED technology.

The city will mount the Holophane luminaires on custom 16ft concrete poles, replacing the steel poles, that supported the existing cobra-head lighting system.

The company said that the luminaires’ LED light output and system life are optimized through a thermal management system, with a dedicated heat sink mounted into the fixture to pull heat away from the critical LED components.
