The wind farm, which is expected to cost £38.6m ($63.09m), is owned by US based power company AES Corp.

The power project has been financed with a combination of financing through a long term loan of £22.8m ($37.27m) from Barclays and AES equity of £15.8m ($25.82m).

The electricity generated by the wind farm will be sold to Norwegian utility Statkraft under a 15-year power purchase agreement.

Construction on the power project will commence this month and the wind farm is expected to begin full commercial operation in August 2012.
