The order is valued at more than US$300M and requires the installation of a total of 208MW of generating capacity in 2012.
Eight bulb turbines are to be supplied under the contract which involves mechanical, electrical, automation and balance of plant.
Under the scheme, the hydro units will be added to locks on the river at three sites: Willow Island, near Waverly, West Virginia; Cannelton in Indiana; and, Smithland in Livingston County, Kentucky.
