The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and a 10-year service agreement.

RES UK and Ireland chief operating officer Gordon MacDougall said that the Kelburn wind farm will contribute to Scotland’s ambitious new renewable energy target of 80% by 2050.

Upon completion, the wind power plant will save the environment from an annual emission of more than 50,000 tons of CO2 compared with average generated energy sources in the UK.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to be completed mid-2011.
