The head of the new business unit will be the present head the company’s Business Group Poland arm, Tuomo Hatakka. Mr Hatakka has also been appointed as the chairman of the management board at the firm’s German subsidiary Vattenfall Europe, effective January 1, 2008. The reorganization is subject to approval of Vattenfall’s board of directors.
Lars Josefsson, president and CEO of Vattenfall, said: As the integration of the European power market is gaining momentum, Vattenfall has to anticipate future challenges and adjust its managerial and organizational structure accordingly.
Tuomo Hatakka, the head of the new Business Group Central Europe, has an impressive track record in international business and is used to working in multicultural environments. I am very happy that Tuomo Hatakka has taken on this challenge and I know that he will do a very good job.
