Ur-Energy has commenced uranium production activities at its wholly-owned Lost Creek in-situ recovery project in south-central Wyoming, US.

The company received a notice of final clearance from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission to start operations at the project.

Ur-Energy president and CEO Wayne Heili said, "We are excited to initiate production operations for the Company at our flagship Lost Creek Project, marking the successful conclusion of eight years of development, regulatory and construction activities."

Construction of the facilities at the project was fully authorized in October 2012, and the company engaged general contractor Groathouse Construction for the build-out of the plant and other infrastructure facilities.

Since inception, Ur-Energy has spent more than $95m in the acquisition, licensing and development of the Lost Creek Project.

Currently, Lost Creek employs about 60 full time workers.
