United Kingdom Onshore Oil And Gas (UKOOG), the representative body for the UK onshore oil and gas industry, has agreed a partnership with the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), the industry association for energy producers, supply chains and skill providers in the East of England, to promote the skills and opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

The two bodies have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on all levels to develop a thriving UK supply chain, establish a world class service and to stimulate new ideas, technologies and methodologies within onshore oil and gas production in the UK.

Simon Gray, EEEGR CEO, said: “We are delighted to be working with UKOOG to the benefit of the members of both organisations.

“The emerging onshore market is likely to be of pivotal importance to the supply chain in the East of England that has been working in the gas industry since its discovery in the Southern North Sea over fifty years ago. Our wealth of skills and knowledge in the industry built up over this period will be of paramount importance to this emerging sector”

Ken Cronin, UKOOG CEO, said: ‘With the prominent effects of the downturn in the oil and gas industry, it is critical that trade organisations work together to find new ways of operating with member companies to identify business opportunities and to develop new technologies in the industry, which this new partnership promises to do.’
