Two million hour barrier has been broken

GE’s fleet of F technology gas turbines has surpassed two million hours of commercial operation in over 100 power plants around the world. To date, 133 F machines are operating in 15 countries. Of these machines, 81 are MS7001FA (60 Hz), 41 are MS9001FA (50 Hz), and 11 are MS6001FA units, which is a gear-driven machine designed for either 50 Hz or 60 Hz.

The first F technology unit installed was a 7F machine in a repowering application at Virginia Power’s Chesterfield station in the USA, which has now accumulated over 47 000 operating hours.
