A memorandum of understanding was signed by both the parties recently. This move is part of Uganda’s strategy to boost energy production.

The power plant, which is expected to take off soon, will be located at Ayago in Murchison Falls National Park along River Nile.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni said that the crucial aspect of this project will be efficiency.

The project is likely to be constructed in two phases – Ayago North will have a capacity of 350MW, while Ayago South will have 250MW installed capacity.

Mapa Construction Company has built industrial plants, dams, hydroelectric power plants and irrigation systems globally.
