Other shareholders in Total E&P Cameroun include the Cameroonian national oil company Societe Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) with 20% interest and Paris Orleans – Groupe Rotchshild with 4.2% interest.

As per media reports, the deal concerns oil fields that are at a mature stage of development.

Production from the mature fields operated by Total in Cameroon has reached 40,000 barrels per day, which represents 0.3% of the company’s total production.

Total senior vice president of exploration and production in Africa Jacques Grottes said that being also present in refining and distribution, Total intends to remain an actor of the Cameroonian oil industry and will maintain its refining activities as well as its distribution network of oil products in the country.
