Ivoire-1X exploration well was drilled to a total depth of 5,044m and encountered 28m of net oil pay in a series of about 100m of Cretaceous reservoirs.

Oil in the abrupt margin geological play has been measured as light 35 API oil.

Oil find in the well confirms the extension into Block CI-100, which is already proved to be an active petroleum system in the prolific Tano basin. Tano basin is home for several fields, including Jubilee in Ghana.

Total is analyzing the data collected from the well to develop an appraisal program for the discovered reservoirs and explore identified prospects further east in the block, near recent discoveries in Ghana.

Total E&P Côte d’Ivoire operates the block with a 60% interest, whereas Yam’s Petroleum and Petroci Holding each holds 25% and 15% interest in the block, respectively.
