Tata Power has designed and developed the first Power Distribution Centre (PDC) in India in collaboration with ABB
Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always been committed to providing quality and uninterrupted power to the consumers of Mumbai city by ushering innovative interventions and adopting new technologies. The Company endeavors to innovate to enhance safety, overcome the challenges of paucity of space and care for environment.
The PDC is a pre-fabricated modular enclosure that houses the MV Switchgear, LV switchgear and auxiliary equipment’s. This engineered solution has been innovated to overcome the major challenges faced in rapidly growing cities and urban areas. Tata Power has been able to reduce the footprint of the 33 /11KV substation by almost 30%, civil cost of construction by 82% as well as the gestation period of establishing the substation by 2 months.
