Synthesis Energy Systems has signed a technical study agreement with Australia-based Ambre Energy to supply a proprietary gasification design to support Ambre's development of a planned coal to liquids project.

Ambre plans to integrate this technical study with its engineering work on the overall project which is being developed in Queensland, Australia.

Ambre’s low-rank Australian coal will be used in the project, which is expected to produce about 18,000bbl/day of gasoline and about 40 million gallons per year of LPG.

Synthesis Energy’s U-GAS gasification technology will convert about four million tons of low rank, high ash coal annually into syngas for the subsequent production of gasoline and LPG.

Synthesis Energy provides technology, equipment and engineering services for the conversion of low rank, low cost coal and biomass feedstocks into energy and chemical products.
