The high-efficiency solar project will be located at Evergreen Valley College and will be delivered by Gilbane Co, a construction company.

The solar system is expected to generate approximately one-third of Evergreen Valley College’s electricity demand annually.

The ground-mounted solar system features the SunPower T0 Tracker which will utilize approximately 4,816 high-efficiency SunPower E 19 / 320 solar panels.

The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.

SunPower managing director Bill Kelly said the company has been working with K-12 schools, community colleges and universities at California to install high efficiency, reliability solar power solutions which provide significant ongoing savings while delivering clean energy.
