Suez Environnement will hold 20% stake in the JV and Chongqing Derun Environment will own 30% interest.

Chongqing YUFU Asset Operation & Management Group and Chongqing Environmental Science Research Institute will each own 25% stake in the new entity.

The JV will offer expert services to monitor and evaluate environmental pollution, remediate contaminated soil, groundwater, mining sites and water sediments.

It will also provide R&D services in environmental restoration engineering and manufacture of environmental remediation agents and parts.

Suez Environnement Group CEO Jean Louis Chaussade said: "SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has worked closely with Chongqing since 2002, on several publicprivate partnerships involved in water treatment and distribution.

"This new joint venture will enable SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT to broaden its presence in China in the environment remediation field, while offering its partners a high quality of service and comprehensive environmental protection services."

Suez Environnement has been operating in China for more than 30 years, via its subsidiaries Sino-French Holdings and Sino French Water, Sita Waste Services and Degrémont.

The company provides new solutions to several industries in the fields of drinking water, wastewater treatment and waste management.
