The proposed hydroelectric project is anticipated to generate around 35MW of clean electricity in the nation.

Of the total electricity, 10MW will be generated from Tiga Dam while the remaining 25MW will be generated from the Chellawa Gorge Dam.

Commenting on the deal, Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso said that the proposed hydroelectric project will help the nation to overcome the power shortage.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government is seeking foreign investors to invest in the hydro power sector in order to increase the clean power generation.

Currently, Nigeria generates about 3000 to 4000MW of electricity.
