Only one candidate has made a bid for the concession to build the 44MW Ourinhos dam in Brazil.

The successful bid came from a consortium consisting of construction firms Gomes Lourenco and Augusto Velloso, along with Tejofan and Telar.

Each firm will have a 25% stake in the project, which is the last available area capable of accommodating a dam on the river Paranapanema.

The dam will absorb the R$70M (US$36M) invest- ment over a period of four years.
