The turbine will be available in a 60 Hz version, with an 80m tower height and rated power generating capacity of 1.8MW.
The REpower MM100 is intended for use particularly in regions with low wind speeds.
The first pilot turbines are set to be installed by the end of 2011, and series production of the MM100 turbine is scheduled for mid-2012.
New LM 48.9P Evolution rotor blades developed jointly by LM Wind Power and REpower are used for the MM100 turbine.
REpower said that the new turbine is also optimized in terms of its grid properties in comparison with the other models in the series.
