The company has received licenses and is working with prospective commercial, industrial and institutional customers in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington, and has also applied for a license in New Jersey.

Reliant Energy said it also intends to file license applications to serve Delaware and other states in the PJM region in the future.

NRG has over 1,600MW of generation capacity in the region served by PJM, the regional electricity transmission organization that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia.
