The Bayhan II is a project which is still in its design stage and its construction is yet to begin. The project is expected to be an earth fill clay core dam on the Murat River near the village of Beyhan in Palu district, Elazig Province in the country.

Upon completion, the HPP will generate 320MW of clean energy and an annual generation of 710GWh.

Kalehan Murat CEO Keles said "Kalehan Energy Group is happy to extend their existing fruitful co-operation with Pöyry in the Beyhan 2 Project."

As per the contract, Pöyry’s scope of work includes the preparation of basic design with special emphasis on risk analysis for the dam and related structures that will help in taking the investment decision for the project.

Pöyry's Energy Business Group president Richard Pinnock said: "Delivering clean, renewable energy projects in this region further strengthens Pöyry's position as one of the world's leading hydropower engineering consultancies."

In Jul1y, Pöyry received an engineering services assignment for headworks rehabilitation project for Dzora hydropower plant project in Armenia. The hydropower plant was built in 1932 on the Dzoraget river.

For the contract, Pöyry will prepare an inventory of damages to the concrete structures and hydromechanical equipment, assess the reduced operability or the expectable durability based on a risk analysis and clarify the geological/geotechnical potential causes for the damages to design the right countermeasures.
