The replacement of more than 520,000 existing meters with new AMI meters is expected to take through 2016 to complete.

The upgrade to AMI meters will offer a variety of customer benefits including, web accessible account and energy usage information, enhanced energy management, improved outage restoration, enhanced customer service

More than 30,000 PSO customers in Owasso, Sand Springs, Okmulgee and at the University of Tulsa already have AMI meters.

"The program has already helped many customers in our pilot areas control their energy usage and has led to greater customer satisfaction," said Derek Lewellen, PSO gridSMART manager. "We are excited to expand this program which will allow all of our customers to benefit from AMI meter technology."
