Russia’s Rusatom Service is undertaking procurement procedures as part of the project to extend the service life of unit 2 of the Armenian NPP. Procurements total $16m. OKB Gidropress will be contracted to carry out an overall assessment of the technical state and justification of the service life extension of the reactor equipment and pipelines. The $19.375m contract is due to be completed by October 2019, according to the procurement website of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom.

NIAEP will fulfil two contracts: development of the operating documentation for upgrades of the emergency core cooling system and spray system worth $2.285m due in December 2018; and the agreement of technical requirements for equipment supply, development of design and operating documentation for upgrades of systems and equipment worth $4.221m and due in November 2019.

A $99,915 contract for the development of a radwaste management concept during the extended operation of Armenian-2 will be signed with the Federal Centre of Nuclear and Radiation Safety and will be due for completion in November.
