The Guangdong Dongsong Electric Power Development Co Ltd has entered in to an agreement with the local government of Yunlong County in Southwestern China to invest in the Gongguoqiao hydro power project.
The hydro station, with a designed power generating capacity of 750MW, will utilise the flow of the Lancang river. Feasibility studies for the project are to be completed by the end of 2005, and construction is expected to start by January 2006, with an anticipated commissioning by the end of 2010. The estimated total cost of the project is US$543.68M.
