Pacific Gas and Electric Company has announced that it will send 10 electric crews and other personnel to San Diego County to assist the local utility, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, with power restoration efforts in areas devastated by recent wildfires.

Jeff Butler, Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) senior vice president of energy delivery, said: Wildfires have caused extensive damage to electrical equipment in the San Diego area leaving thousands of customers without power. We are proud to send experienced and dedicated employees to help San Diego Gas and Electric restore power for its customers.

In all, more than 90 Pacific Gas and Electric employees will be deployed to San Diego County. The electric crews come from several different areas throughout northern and central California, including San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Auburn, Stockton, Fresno and Bakersfield. Employees are expected to stay in the San Diego area for approximately three weeks, based on the amount of damaged equipment that needs to be repaired.
