Sushilkumar Shinde, the Power Minister, informed that the plant would be constructed in at Lara village in the state’s northern coal-abundant Raigarh district.

The project requires 30,000 hectares of land which is expected to comprise five 800MW units.

As per the conditions laid by Raman Singh Chief Minister, 50% of the power generated from the facility would go to the state government, informed Shinde.

The company also entered into two other contracts to setup an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) campus in the state.
