Canadian power producer Northland Power has acquired the controlling interest in Canadian Environmental Energy (CEEC) and all the shares of Chapais Power Services from the Probyn Group.

Commenting on the acquisition, Northland Power president and CEO John Brace said the company is consolidating its interests in two of Ontario’s clean energy projects under its management since start-up and adding another pure renewables project to its portfolio in Québec.

Following the acquisition, Northland will take over the corporate management of CEEC, CPC, KLPC, and CHEL.

At present, CEEC also owns the voting shares in CHEL, General Partner of Chapais Énergie, Société en Commandite, owner of the 28MW biomass-fired power facility in Chapais, Québec, besides in CEEC, CPC, KLPC, and CHEL.
