MOL has acquired 62% ownership in the MSZKSZ Zrt, a company established by the Hungarian Hydrocarbon Stockpiling Association to develop a strategic gas storage facility with 1.2bcm capacity.

The planned gas storage facility will be developed from the Szoreg-1 field, which Mol has sold to Hungarian Hydrocarbon Stockpiling Association (MSZKSZ). The development is expected to be completed by 2010.

The Szoreg-1 field has 2.4bcm cushion gas. In 2006, the production of the field exceeded 450mcm gas and 32 thousand tonnes of crude oil.

Meanwhile, MOL’s Serbian division has revealed plans to more than double its forecourt fleet in 2007, Serbian media firm B92 has reported. MOL’s Serbian forecourt portfolio will increase from 11 to 25 sites in the coming year, with new services stations in Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Subotica, among other locations.
