The pumping station was constructed to improve water pressure for around 5,500 households in the area.

Maynilad aims to invest about PHP2.64bn ($60.8m) in 2012 to expand water services in the southern portion of Metro Manila.
The Patindig Araw Pumping Station is expected to bring surface water to more than 81,200 new customers once other expansion projects around Imus are completed.
