Linzer Products, a US-based producer of paint tools and accessories, has installed a 614kW DC photovoltaic (PV) system at its paint brush factory in San Fernando, California.

The PV system, which features around 2,730 electric solar modules, is expected to generate 920MWh of electricity annually.

Mitsubishi Electric has provided the solar modules, while Sun Integration installed them.

Federal investment tax credit, and a rebate from the California Solar Initiative have funded the project.

Commenting on the installation, Linzer president and COO Brent Swenson said that the installation of solar modules at the company’s manufacturing facility is expected to reduced its electrical costs and will enhance the environmental sustainability of the operations.

Mitsubishi Electric Photovoltaic Division vice president and general manager Gina Heng said, "We are pleased to be able to help a local manufacturer harness the sun with the use of our solar modules."
