The projects will have a combined installed capacity of 300MW and ZTE, China MCC17 Group and Intratrek Zimbabwe are the contractors for the projects.

JA Solar will supply its PV modules to China MCC17 Group for the project it is building.

The total PV module contract value of the projects is $544m, of which $179m was awarded to JA Solar.

Construction on the solar projects will begin in 2016-end or early 2017, with planned completion by the end of 2017.

JA Solar executive president Xie Jian said: "Winning the contract to supply PV modules to the Zimbabwe project not only provides opportunities for JA Solar to establish stronger relationships in Zimbabwe but also helps lay a foundation for the company to develop relationships with other African countries.

JA Solar has recently delivered 92.5MW of modules for a solar PV power project in the Philippines.
