Iberdrola Renovables and the Donana 21 Foundation have signed an agreement under which the Spanish renewable energy company will sponsor one of the solar trees in the Solar Forest to be installed in the Matalascanas Dunes Park in the province of Huelva, in southwestern Spain.

The E1.1 million project consists of photovoltaic ‘trees,’ each generating 5KW or 10KW of electricity from solar radiation, for a total capacity of 100KW.

The project is an initiative of the Andalusian Energy Agency and the Donana 21 Foundation. Proceeds from electricity sales will pay for education programs about sustainable energy for young people in the district.
