US based energy company High Plains Gas (HPG) has closed the acquisition of the Grams and Mills Gillette gas fields in the Power River Basin of Wyoming.

Previous to the acquisition, the fields had produced small amounts of gas since they were originally drilled in 1998.

At the time of its purchase of the fields, HPG developed a recompletion program that has increased gas production in both fields to 75% of their production volume.

HPG chairman Mark Hettinger said that completing the acquisition of the natural gas fields will allow the company to reap the benefits of its renovation efforts now and going forward.

HPG is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of natural gas primarily in the Powder River Basin.
