As soon as it obtains a license, Torrent Power will sign a power purchase agreement with ONGC Petro-additions Ltd and the developers for establishing a 1,500 megawatts (MW) liquefied natural gas (LNG) power station in Dahej SEZ.
After the commission obtains no-objection from relevant entities, final licenses to these firms would be provided.
Under renewable purchase obligation, Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission is also planning to augment renewable energy share in power distribution. It is expected to augment the current renewable energy share in total electricity distribution in 2009 from 2% to 8%. Consequently, renewable purchase obligation’ will be augmented to 10%.
