GT Solar International has secured new orders totaling $84.3m for its DSS multicrystalline growth furnaces from both new and existing customers.
The new customers include Nantong Zongyi New Material and Inner Mongolia Zhong Huan Solar Material.
The company claimed the contracts will be included in the company’s backlog for the quarter ending 2 June 2011 and it continues to develop advanced crystallization growth technology that improves ingot quality and delivers value to its customers.
GT Solar president and CEO Tom Gutierrez said the DSS systems offer customers an upgrade path to higher levels of productivity as the company increases the performance of its systems through upgrades and system improvements.
GT Solar is a provider of polysilicon production technology, and sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems and materials for the solar, LED and other specialty markets.
