The company is partnering with CBC Company, Eco Holdings and OG Corporation to promote its a Japanese variant of its PowerFLEX BIPV system adapted for use on the rooftops of Japan.

Global Solar is looking to cash in on the local government’s new feed-in-tariff program which is expected to foster a solar energy ecosystem worth $9.6bn having an installed capacity of 3.2GW.

Commenting on the consequences of the Japanese feed-in-tariff program, Global Solar CEO Jean-Noel Poirier said that the Japanese market is set to become the most important market for solar developers in the near future.

"With our highly-valued partners, Global Solar is well positioned to take advantage of the market growth and bring our powerful and cost-effective PowerFLEX BIPV solar solution to more rooftops around Japan," added Poirier.
