In December 2007, Madisonville Gas Processing (MGP) informed GeoPetro Resources that it has temporarily suspended the operations of the expanded portion of the plant, which has the capacity to treat 50 million cubic feet per day of inlet natural gas.

Operations were suspended in the expanded-section plant in order to make modifications to more effectively deal with the presence of diamondoids in the gas stream produced from the Rodessa formation.

MGP indicates that removal of the diamondoids will require flowing the natural gas stream through a diesel contactor after the gas stream has had the hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide removed.

In the meantime, the existing, older portion of the plant continues to treat approximately 15 million cubic feet per day of inlet gas, the company said.
