GE Renewable Energy has entered into a deal with UKA Group to supply turbines for about 280MW wind projects in Germany.
The company has secured a firm order to supply turbines for 30 MW of new wind project at UKA Group’s Duben Süd wind farm in Brandenburg.
As per the deal, GE will supply 11 of its 2.75-120 machines for the second phase of Duben Süd wind farm for which the company had supplied similar machines in 2015.
With the new installation, the farm’s total capacity will increase to approximately 55 MW. GE will also provide service for the turbines for 15 years.
GE has also signed a deal with UKA Group to supply turbines for 250MW wind projects to be developed at 12 sites across Germany.
As per the agreement, GE Renewable Energy is likely to supply 73 wind turbines of 3.4- 137 machines. The wind turbine units are equipped with software and analytics compatible with GE’s Digital Wind Farm ecosystem.
This software and analytics system has been developed to improve annual energy production and improve wind farm profitability.

The Duben Sud project is expected to be completed and operational later this year and the rest of the 12 projects are scheduled to begin construction by 2018.
