GE Energy partners with wind farm developer Monsson Alma to supply turbines for two Romanian wind power projects with a total generating capacity of 35MW.

The company will provide ten 2.5MW turbines and ten years of maintenance service for the Silistea 1 wind project and four 2.5MW turbines and five years of maintenance service for the Mireasa 2 project.

Both power projects are about 20km from the Fantanele Wind Farm, which also includes GE 2.5MW turbines.

The Silistea 1 project will be owned by SC Romconstruct Top SRL, while SC Eco Power Wind owns the Mireasa 2 project.

According to GE, Romania aims to have 24% of its energy produced from renewable resources by 2020.
