Suez Energy Resources to sponsor Hidalgo's Festival of Lights during the 2009 holiday season

Suez Energy Resources NA, the retail energy business of GDF Suez Energy North America, has signed a contract with the city of Hidalgo, Texas, to provide its electricity through January 2011. In addition, Suez Energy Resources will partner with the city for its 2009 BorderFest and Festival of Lights.

Suez Energy Resources will provide a portion of the city’s electricity service in the AEP Texas Central territory. These accounts primarily supply energy to municipalities, street lights, and The Dodge Arena, home of the 2009 BorderFest.

In addition to its two-year electricity contract, Suez Energy Resources has signed on to sponsor the Border Texan of the Year dinner on the first night of BorderFest. Additionally, the retail electricity provider will sponsor Hidalgo’s Festival of Lights during the 2009 holiday season.

Bob Wilson, president and CEO of Suez Energy Resources NA, said: We are thrilled to become a business partner with the city of Hidalgo to provide its electricity. We pride ourselves on community involvement and believe the BorderFest event is a great opportunity to support the city’s educational efforts within the community.
