Pursuant to the contract, Gamesa will supply, install and commission four of its G114-2.0 MW turbines as well as provide a five-year operation and maintenance (O&M) service for the plant.

The contract represents the new G114-2.0 MW turbine’s foray into the European market. Designed to yield more power at lower cost at medium and low wind speed sites, the turbine delivers a higher capacity factor and reduces the cost of energy by up to 10%.

Gamesa claims the turbine has a rotor spanning 114m, swept area is 38% greater than that of the G97-2.0 MW, and generates up to 20% more energy annually.

Besides providing turbines, Gamesa will also install a system for detecting and eliminating ice on blades that has been custom-developed for its suite of 2.0-2.5MW turbines.

With the latest contract, Gamesa contracts and framework agreements for its G114-2.0 MW turbine reached 504MW. In addition, the company had earlier installed two 850kW turbines Eolus Vind.
