The company, which is replacing the stores’ energy-wasting 90W halogen bulbs with the 11W Cree LED lights, has already installed nearly 13,000 Cree LRP-38 LED spotlights out of more than 80,000 planned.

In addition to reduced energy consumption, the installation of these Cree LRP-38 LED spotlights, which are claimed to generate low heat output, is expected to help the company save on air condition operating costs.

Further, the Cree LED lights, which are designed for a 50,000-hour lifetime in open applications, will eliminate the need for recurrent replacements, thereby enabling the company to incur maintenance savings.

Cree LED Lighting director of national accounts Craig Lofton said that the LRP-38 spotlight is perfect for retail environments because it offers energy efficiency and longevity without compromising on the high quality light needed to properly illuminate merchandise.

“Lighting customers should sacrifice nothing in the pursuit of beautiful, energy-efficient light, and Furniture Row’s stores are exemplifying just that,” Lofton said.
