Fuel Tech’s first order from an existing customer includes two ULTRA systems for two retrofit coal-fired electricity generating units in China, and the equipment deliveries are currently scheduled for later in 2011.

The ULTRA process provides for the safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx), eliminating the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia.

The second order secured from an existing customer, was an award of a NOxOUT-SCR project on a domestic industrial boiler, and the equipment deliveries are currently scheduled for later in 2011.

The company’s NOxOUT-SCR process is an advanced form of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, and it utilizes a safe, easy-to-use reagent to feed the SCR system.

Fuel Tech’s additional orders include, supplemental equipment orders for previously announced business, modeling orders for SNCR and SCR systems and ammonia injection grid tuning for an SCR system.
