LCRA expects to receive the required permit from the US Environmental Protection Agency by the end of 2011 for this Ferguson Replacement Project near Marble Falls in the US state of Texas.
Fluor will replace the 37-year-old, 420MW Thomas C Ferguson power plant once all required permits are issued.
LCRA began operating the Thomas C Ferguson natural gas-fired power plant in 1974 to meet increased demand, especially in the western part of its Central Texas service area.
