Wind energy company First Wind has begun commercial operations at the 102MW Milford Wind Corridor Phase II (Milford II) project in Utah, US.
The power project, which is located north of the 204MW Milford I wind project, includes 68 units of GE 1.5MW turbine.
The electricity produced by Milford II is being supplied to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Glendale Water and Power pursuant to an agreement with Southern California Public Power Authority.
Construction of the Milford II project was led by renewable energy engineering and construction firm RMT and started in the summer of 2010.
The Milford I and II projects are expected to combinedly generate enough electricity to power up to 64,000 homes.
