Applying for a Community Feed-In-Tariff (COMFIT) option through the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, Eskasoni Corporate Division has committed to working with juwi Wind Canada and its local development partner Community Wind Farms over the next 12-18 months to secure it.

Also, the MoU will involve the three parties verifying the wind resource, conducting environmental assessments, and engaging the local community to responsibly develop the project.

Construction of the project is expected to be completed by 2014 and will see Eskasoni Corporate Division become the majority owner.

"The Harmony project is another example of aligning ourselves with the major players within this business sector and we will continue to seek out any and all opportunities that will realize benefits to the community members of Eskasoni," Eskasoni Development Corp general manager Steve Parsons
