The Netherlands-based Eneco Energie has reported that the total revenue from the supply and distribution of energy increased by E154 million to E2.3 billion for the first half of 2007, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2006.

The net profit amounted to E209 million, an increase of 12% compared to 2006. Excluding exceptional items, the net profit decreased by 7%. The revenue from electricity increased by approximately E250 million, representing a 26% rise.

The company’s operating expenses increased by E21 million for the first half of 2007, a 5% rise. These costs were positively influenced by an exceptional item of E31 million concerning the settlement of an acquisition that took place in the past.
